Player Profile - Joseph Mills

In recent times, Southampton Academy has been responsible for producing potentially world-class youths such as Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale. The latest to come from the clubs fruitful production line is Joseph Mills. He is an 18 year old LB playing for Southampton. He was born in Swindon, and was a Swindon youth player, but along with the likes of Theo Walcott (Signed at the same time by the same club) and Lee Holmes (Signed by Derby - now at Southampton), he was snapped up by higher league clubs due to Swindon's money problems. The youngster recently made his debut against Birmingham in August, coming off the bench in the cup. He then made his first start for Southampton, nearly a month later in the goalless draw with Barnsley, since when he has started in every single game. He is the younger brother of Matthew Mills (Doncaster) and Leigh Mills (Tottenham), and follows them in their footsteps to the top 2 tiers of English football.
